One of the most important questions that a Bay Area Landscape Pro has to answer for any project is “How much will the plants for my project cost?”
To answer this question accurately, you need a plant material Estimate. And whether you work at an office or in the field on a mobile device, we’ve made it as easy as possible for you to get your answer.

More than just a price
A plant material Estimate can provide you and your customer with more information than just a price.Unlike an ordinary wholesale nursery, we are both a plant grower and broker. And even with over 40 acres of on-hand inventory and all of the plants in our extensive network of plant providers, we may not be able to get every specimen in the exact size, color, and quantity that you’re looking for on the date when you need them.
So if you need your plants ASAP, our Estimate can help you select varieties that are either available on-site in our growing grounds or that may come from one of our grower partners that frequently delivers plant material to us.
The fast and accurate way to your price
The fastest way to get an estimate for the plants you’re looking for is to use our convenient, easy-to-use online Estimate + Order form.
This easy-to-use tool allows you to attach your plant list so that we’ll know exactly what you’re looking for. With your plant list in hand, our sales team can then prepare the Estimate and email it back to you.
The best way for you to provide your plant list to us is by attaching a Microsoft Excel .xlsx file.
Why is a .xlsx plant list better?
By default, Excel .xlsx files are optimized for organizing content in columns and rows. This makes it superior to an ordinary word processor or text editor. Excel is also an excellent application for letting the computer do the math. You can add up items or apply complex formulas with just a few clicks.
When you attach a .xlsx file with your Estimate request, it allows us to edit your native file with a new column that will call out the exact unit price for each plant item. With this price, you can then simply multiply that price by the number of plants in that specimen and unit size.
Pro Tip for preparing your.xlsx Plant List
Make 5 columns in your Excel file and title the headings with:
Once that’s done, just fill in the data for the plants that you need.
- | Specimen name
- | Unit Size
- | Color or Form
- | Any special requirements
- | Quantity
Once that’s done, just fill in the data for the plants that you need.
It’s a good practice to include your contact information on the document too. This should include your name, company name, address, phone number, and email address.
When you do this, it removes the potential for confusion about who the list of plants is for.

What happens after you request an Estimate?
Once we receive your request for an Estimate, we get to work on how to get all of your plants. It’s important to recognize that ALL of the plants that you’re looking for may not be available in the size, color, and quantity you need.
Why? Because:
- | Plants are continually changing in size, shape, color
- | Inventory is constantly turning over
- | Popular specimens in certain sizes may be in high demand due to landscape trends
- | Environmental conditions like drought affect the availability
Once you get our Estimate via email, just confirm which plants you want with your sales representative. We can then process and fill the order.
