Leadership

Founder




As a third generation Californian and second generation San Franciscan, Don is also President of Pacific Nurseries.

He earned his degree in ornamental horticulture at the University of California, Davis. His hands-on experience includes 15 years of success as a landscape contractor.

Don gives back and remains connected to the landscape community through education, support and involvement in organizations including Pacific Horticulture and the San Francisco Botanical Garden. His “feel good” satisfaction comes from knowing the Bay Area is greener and more beautiful by helping his customers succeed.
Julie Baldocchi | Pacific Nurseries
Co-Founder



After 15 years of running a successful commercial photography business, Julie came to Pacific Nurseries in 1997 when she and Don Baldocchi bought the company.

Currently she works remotely with the management team on strategic planning, business operations and marketing. In her free time, she enjoys being a board member of Point Blue Conservation Science, photography, volunteer ski patrolling, biking, cow-girling and cooking.
Will Baldocchi | Pacific Nurseries
CEO




Will developed a close connection to nature early on while exploring his father’s landscaping job sites and being quizzed on the genus and species of plants while hiking Mt. Tam.

With a background as a touring musician and tour manager, Will has gained experience in team management, collaboration, and organization through his years performing and traveling internationally. Recently joining the Pacific Nurseries’ team, Will’s focus is on operations management as he proudly continues the tradition of supplying the Bay Area with high-quality landscape material.

Nothing makes him happier than to drive through San Francisco and see Pacific Nurseries’ plants adding to the beauty and charm of the city he grew up in.
Chase Baldocchi | Pacific Nurseries
COO




Chase has fond memories of growing up with Pacific Nurseries as the family business. He remembers helping out on the yard as a kid, potting cuttings into 4″ pots, and playing in shade houses with his brother Will. Now years later, he is proud to be involved in the management of the business and is excited to help Pacific Nurseries continue to grow.

With a background in leadership his experience includes serving as General Manager for a popular LA restaurant and Director of Operations for an online apparel company. He is motivated to help people within a company operate as a cohesive team and he derives satisfaction in working to establish an environment where staff are happy, challenged, and improving. He believes that when a team operates with mutual respect and love for their jobs, they will in turn create a place that customers feel welcome and invited.

He assists in several areas of the business including operational oversight, process improvement, employee development, hiring, and strategic planning.

Debbie Catalano| Pacific Nurseries
Commercial Account Manager




Debbie Catalano is a recent transplant from the east coast where she spent most of her time raising her family and running a small business rendering services in website development and marketing. With the encouragement and cheers from her family, and a strong desire to shift to a second career, Debbie acquired her degree in General Horticulture as Farmingdale State College in New York in 2018 and New York Certification in 2019.

Today, she embraces the west coast with her husband and best friend, Mark, and all that California offers. She is thrilled for the opportunity to join the Pacific Nurseries team of professionals, working together to facilitate our clients’ landscaping requirements.

She loves spending time with her family, hiking, paddling rivers and estuaries, camping, and most of all watching the hummingbirds with her grandchildren.
Jason Fuller | Pacific Nurseries

Jason has worked in Bay Area nurseries for over thirty years. Before arriving at Pacific Nurseries, Jason started his career in greens keeping at the Half Moon Bay links.

He also has expertise in field growing cut flowers and has years of retail experience and problem solving at local nurseries including a position as assistant manager.
Jenni Brummett | Customer Service

Jenni is a California native whose fondest memories focus on the natural world and enjoyment of plants. From camping in the Sierra, to vegetable gardening with family in the Central Valley, to cultivating large perennial gardens of her own, she’s refreshed and delighted by time spent outdoors. She studied horticulture in college as well as volunteered at a local historic estate and community garden.

Prior to joining the Pacific Nurseries Sales Team, she had many years of customer service experience in healthcare and at an architectural firm.

She takes every opportunity to explore the history and architecture of the Bay Area, gathering ideas for her creative writing projects. An avid reader, she enjoys long walks through neighborhoods with prolific gardens and old houses.

At Pacific Nurseries, she’s honing her botanical Latin and plant identification skills while getting to know, and immensely appreciate, the people who beautify the Bay.
Royal Jenkins | Pacific Nurseries
Customer Service + Sales



Born and raised in Southern California, Roy brings ten years of plant knowledge from nurseries, botanical gardens, and California native plant landscaping. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in anthropology with an emphasis in ethnobotany but is dedicated to being a lifelong learner.
 
He enjoys hearing about how people work with native ecologies as the structure of their gardens. His favorite pastimes include spending time amongst trees, at the sea, and doing anything related to music.  
Megan Taylor | Pacific Nurseries
Lead Estimator



Megan earned her degree in Agricultural and Environmental Plant Sciences with a double concentration in both Fruit and Crop Science as well as Ornamental Horticulture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She worked through college at both the crops unit and horticulture units on campus, growing avocados, citrus, poinsettias, houseplants, and cut flower crops to sell. At the end of her college career, Megan was a commercial nursery manager for a local farm supply store for a year and a half while finishing up her degree, then promptly moved up into the Bay Area at the end of 2021 after graduation to join the Pacific Nurseries team!

During her free time, Megan loves to take care of her own plants at home, hang out with her 8 frogs and 4 lizards, and wander around Mill Valley foraging and listening to her favorite bands such as Black Country, New Road and Steely Dan. She also looks forward to getting the whole office to dress up in costume for Halloween.
Julian Demegillo | Pacific Nurseries

Julian earned his degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Davis. He also has several years of customer service experience working in retail and from tutoring at College of Marin. He is interested in further broadening his knowledge of plants and learning more about the nursery industry.

During his free time, he enjoys listening to music, graphic designing, propagating plants in his garden, and looking for the next best food spots around the Bay Area.
Emma Macnaughton | Pacific Nurseries
Customer Service + Sales



Emma is a first-generation Bay Area resident. They spent much of their childhood enjoying the prolific garden culture in Ireland with their family. Since moving to San Francisco in 2012, they have shared a community garden plot with their partner on Bernal Hill, where they grow a wide variety of edible and ornamental plants.

In 2015, Emma received a BA in Geography from San Francisco State University. During lockdown in 2020, they began landscaping their shared backyard and rediscovered their passion for working closely with plants. They decided to return to school and earned a certificate in Organic Agriculture from Cabrillo College in Aptos.

In her spare time, Emma loves to garden, hang out with their cats, and explore new bodies of water to soak in.
Danielle Duncan | Pacific Nurseries
Sales Support



Danielle has a strong background in customer service and a specialization in support roles. With 10 years of experience in the industry, she is passionate about continued learning in the horticultural trade and is committed to her professional growth.

In her role at Pacific Nurseries, she provides primary support for the sales team, as well as assisting other departments when needed. She enjoys meeting challenges with a growth mindset, taking on new projects, and discussing ideas for improvement.

When not working, she enjoys hiking, mycology, and science and history podcasts.
Mauricio Rada | Pacific Nurseries
Dispatch



Mauricio has been working in delivery services around Bay Area since 2018. He joined Pacific Nurseries’ team as a Delivery Driver and was quickly promoted to Dispatch Coordinator in 2023. Since he was a child has enjoyed the natural world and has been curious about new outdoor experiences. He is excited to learn more about the landscape industry and the challenges of supply chain management.

He is originally from Colombia and in his free time, he likes to play soccer and baseball, travel to national parks, listen to tropical music, and spend time with family.

Inventory + Plant Production

David Calibo | Pacific Nurseries
Grower | Plant Production




David has been with Pacific Nurseries since 2006 and is responsible for inventory tracking as well as sales. David earned a degree in Horticulture and also majored in vegetable production.

He enjoys growing and the production dimensions of the plant business. His history includes owning an orchid and honeybee business. He is currently interested in the many varieties of water-saving succulents.
Tanya Wood | Pacific Nurseries
Inventory Manager



Tanya came on board with Pacific Nurseries in October 2021 and is responsible for the management and oversight of inventory. Additionally, she assists the head of production where needed.

She earned her B.A. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems from U.C. Santa Cruz, where she participated in research conducting both greenhouse and on-farm trials. Professionally she has an eclectic background that has allowed her to bring a unique skillset to aide in her role here.

In her free-time, Tanya enjoys exploring the coastal regions, hiking, camping, collecting rocks and crystals, and of course propagating and learning about plants.
Rosa Montemayor | Pacific Nurseries
Gabilan Grounds Manager



Rosa has worked in the nursery industry for over 37 years. 18 of those years have been with Pacific Nurseries at our Gabilan Growing Grounds identifying, propagating, and growing CA native and summer-dry-tolerant plants for Bay Area landscapes.

Rosa enjoys watching her plants come to life from the planting of seeds to the day she prepares to ship them off for sale. Today, she still takes pleasure in growing her knowledge of the agriculture industry.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and her four grandchildren, often teaching them about the joys of nurturing the life of a plant.
Manuel Huerta | Pacific Nurseries
Yard Supervisor



Manuel began working at Pacific Nurseries in 2002 and has held several positions in Maintenance, Receiving, and Order Fulfillment. Before Pacific Nurseries, he did not have experience with ornamental horticulture but immediately began to grow an interest in learning and growing his knowledge of plant material. During his time at the nursery, he has become well-versed in many of our operations and production.
   
In 2023 he was promoted to Yard Supervisor and is currently in charge of all nursery yard operations. In this role, he coordinates closely with the management team, leads the operations team in all of its responsibilities, and helps advise on how we can continue to improve and grow.
 
Some of his interests are taking care of his personal house plants, going on walks with his dog and cats, listening to rock music, playing soccer, and going on hikes.  
Cody Calamia | Pacific Nurseries
Lead Buyer



At age 16 Cody entered the world of horticulture when he successfully grew coffee plants from seed and was eventually able to roast his own cup of coffee!

He has spent the last decade studying landscape design, taking leadership roles at retail nurseries in the Bay Area, and starting his own landscape design and installation business in San Francisco.

Today, Cody is our Lead Buyer. He is passionate about improving our selection and availability of high-quality, water-efficient, and ecologically regenerative native plants including succulents and other dry-tolerant plants.

Cody sees the interconnections between creating healthy, human, emotional, physical, and interpersonal systems of ecology.

He says: “By enriching our landscapes, we enrich ourselves. When we enrich ourselves, we enrich each other—and the world as a whole. Our environment connects us all.
Rafael Vázquez Chile | Pacific Nurseries
Production Lead



Rafael joined Pacific Nurseries in 2023 in a production associate capacity and quickly rose to take the lead position for one of the production teams.

From previous experience working in nurseries in Mexico, he brings strong knowledge and skill in various production needs such as pest mitigation, fertilization, and plant development.

In addition, he works in mechanical maintenance of company heavy machinery. In his spare time, he enjoys boxing.
Tony Cuevas | Pacific Nurseries
Production Lead



Tony joined the Pacific Nurseries team in 2007 and has gained expert knowledge in plant production and infrastructure.

He currently hold the position of Production Lead where he coordinates with the Grower to build infrastructure and maintain planting schedules. In his free time he enjoys spending time in nature with his family.
Cathalina Meneses | Pacific Nurseries
Inventory Admin



Cathalina earned her degree in Agricultural Business from La Salle University in Bogotá, Colombia. She’s passionate about environmental conservation, studying horticultural science, and assisting family and friends with their gardens and houseplants.

She focuses on creating a welcoming space for wildlife in her garden. Believing strongly in the importance of biodiversity and natural balance.

Outside the garden, she likes to read, dance, ride horses, hike, travel, and camp.
Alexander Del Cid | Pacific Nurseries
Inventory Coordinator



Alexander is originally from Guatemala, “the country of eternal spring”, where beauty is found in the green and picturesque landscapes of the place.

He joined the Pacific Nurseries team in 2021 in plant production, then moved to the receiving team in 2023, and currently works as the Inventory Coordinator. He coordinates closely with the Inventory Manager and various yard positions to facilitate inventory procedures and improvements.

At Pacific Nurseries he is honing his botanical and English-speaking skills while taking on new challenges within the company. His hobbies include watching anime, camping, exploring new challenges, and spending time with family.

Jenny Lombardo | Pacific Nurseries
Financial Controller




As financial controller, Jenny focuses on the management and accounting operations at PN. She enjoys the financial analysis, performing internal audits and embraces the challenges of problem solving.

With her seasoned accounting background, Jenny provides timely and relevant reports to the management team as well as to external users. She works closely with the management team to create monthly and annual reports which provide not only a sense of personal satisfaction, but support Pacific Nurseries’ growth in the industry.

In her free time, Jenny enjoys travel, hiking and patio gardening.
Joe Vazquez | Pacific Nurseries
Accounts Receivable Manager



Joe is originally from Boston and comes with 20 years of hospitality experience from the Hotel Industry. Through out the years Joe held many positions and learned many different skills including accounting. The plant world is completely new to Joe, and he is very excited to learn as much as possible during this new adventure.

In his free time, Joe is an avid Boston Sports fan, enjoys camping, live music, exploring the Bay Area, and spending time with family and friends.
Seiling Moncada | Pacific Nurseries
Human Resources Manager




Seiling is passionate about the Human Resources profession. She loves helping others and having the opportunity to make people’s working lives better, even in the smallest way.

Seiling started her Human Resources career over 6 years ago and has experience managing the different aspects of HR, including compliance, performance management, payroll, employee benefits, onboarding & safety.

She likes creating lasting relationships and has a strong belief in Steve Jobs’ maxim “the journey is the reward”. It is what inspires her to do her work with enthusiasm and challenges her to learn constantly.

Aside from work, she loves spending time with her family, traveling and enjoys nature.
Alina Ferrer | Pacific Nurseries
Administrative Support




Prior to working at Pacific Nurseries, Alina was in the medical industry for over 25 years as a Medical Biller for dermatologist and orthopedic doctors. She enjoys her role as Administrative Support position at Pacific Nurseries because of the opportunity to learn various new technology skills that were unavailable in her previous roles and because of the opportunity to get to know more about the plant world. She is excited to learn as much as she can about this industry.

Alina was born in Cuba, raised in Jamaica, and at 12 years old moved to the Bay Area where she has been ever since. She feels blessed to have parents that thought of their children’s well-being enough to sacrifice leaving their own country for the sake of a better life. In her spar time she loves watching old, classic movies on television but most of all, she enjoys having an older sister as her best friend.
