Prunus laurocerasus features that your customers will love
Prunus laurocerasus—also known as Cherry Laurel or English Laurel—is native to regions in southwestern Asia and southeastern Europe.As an evergreen shrub or small to medium-sized tree, they grow to 16—25′ tall. The leaves are shiny, leathery, and dark green in color with a finely serrated margin. Flower buds appear in early spring and open in early summer with creamy-white petals and numerous yellowish stamens with a sweet smell. The leaves can also have the scent of almonds when crushed.
Prunus laurocerasus performs best in moist, organically rich, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.
These big, beautiful, and versatile plants make fantastic hedges and provide an evergreen backdrop to other plants in Bay Area landscapes.
