Ground Cover
Thymus pseudolanuginosus—now also classified as Thymus praecox—is a
low-growing, mat-forming sub-shrub with distinctive hairy or woolly leaves and stems. This aromatic foliage can vary from slightly smooth to sparsely covered in white hairs, or thickly covered on both surfaces with hairy ciliate. Violet flowers appear just above the foliage in mid summer. This small-scale ground cover is a great addition to a rock garden or borders as it tends to creep and spread easily. For foodies, this Thymus is not to be used for cooking.
