Podocarpus gracilior is a dense, graceful tall evergreen tree with dark gray bark and pendulous branches that are densely covered in long, narrow dark green leaves. The leaves are spirally arranged on mature trees with purple seeds that are frequently dispersed by birds that eat the fleshy seed coating. This very popular screen plant in the Bay Area performs best in sun or part shade with regular water.
