Himalayacalamus hookerianus ‘Teague’s Blue’ is a dramatic Bamboo specimen. It forms an attractive clump of upright 1″ wide culms with 6″ long dark green leaves that dangle gracefully. New culms appear with a distinctive blue color which is retained at the base as they age and turn olive green. This bamboo prefers morning sun and light shade with moderate water. As a great candidate for a privacy hedge or large container, it can be attractive to gophers. Providing root protection with a wire basket can mitigate pest damage.
