Bouteloua gracilis is a low-growing species that is native to a large portion of the United States. It grows well in hot, dry regions of California. It’s semi-evergreen and shuts off growth as the weather cools in our Bay Area fall and winter seasons. This handsome CA Native grass is a great candidate for replacing a water-wasting lawn.
