As a clumping perennial that grows best in cool sun or shade, Heuchera micrantha var. diversifolia ‘Palace Purple’ features dramatic, dark purple to bronze-colored foliage that is prized in Bay Area landscapes. In summer, creamy white flowers appear on long, thin stalks that rise above and contrast with the large, star-shaped foliage. It’s tolerant of many soils but dislikes clay and prefers the addition of organic matter. This handsome plant does like regular watering.
