Senecio is a spreading succulent from South Africa that grows to 12-18″ tall with 3-4″ long, blue-gray pencil-like fleshy leaves. This distinctive plant forms a dense carpet of angled upward leaves as they spread. It blooms with small white flowers in mid-summer. As a hardy, low-maintenance ground cover, it prefers full sun, sandy, well-draining soil, and requires little water. This is a great solution for rock gardens, containers, and dry-tolerant landscapes. It can also be propagated easily from cuttings.
