Bamboo
Phyllostachys nigra is a slow-growing, running bamboo that features green canes that begin growth and then turn to dramatic black in their second year. The striking vertical canes can reach a diameter of 1 1/2″. This very popular bamboo is perfect for containers, as a featured plant, or for use as an effective screen plant. It prefers partial shade and light sun. And it is particularly sensitive to salt air, water, and soil.
