This shrubby vine is growing just down the street from my house in San Francisco and it’s just incredible when it blossoms. The lilac blue color is soft, with a little yellow center.
A true South American beauty for the Bay Area.
The Solanum Crispum evergreen vine is originally from Chile. It also needs support to be used on a trellis. Once established, it blooms well in warm areas with half to full sun. Plan on being patient when using this plant in an installation as it could take some time to get established. But once it is established, it produces great color and flowers. The variety ‘Glasnevin’ has even deeper blue flower color that the specimen shown in the photo.
It’s not an item that we usually stock at Pacific Nurseries. However, as a plant grower and broker, we can order them for your landscape project from our nursery partners.
